Rusty Ray Archer, 54, of Gallatin, Missouri passed away Saturday, November 16, 2019, in Bentonville, Arkansas. He was born December 17, 1964, in Cameron, Missouri to Ross Eugene Archer and Blanche Arline Price Archer.
It was while attending Page High School in Arizona when Rusty’s career in concrete began. It didn’t take long before his talent, strength, and tenacious work ethic was discovered, and by 18 he was running his own crew. His leadership and workmanship was recognized early and he was consistently sought after for the most high-profile projects. Rusty worked and collaborated on over a dozen hotels, resorts, and casinos along what we know and see today as the Las Vegas Strip. It’s been said “Rusty could make a concrete floor look like a mirror with just a 3 inch flat trowel and 4 foot straightedge.”
His work was his passion, but his family was his life. He honored and cherished his role as loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend... but nothing warmed his heart like being called “PaPa.”
Rusty affected a lot of lives with his kindness and empathy, often going out of his way to help or support others. His kindness and generosity seemed endless, and he always saw the best qualities in a person no matter their circumstances. He was a mentor to so many, and will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by: his father, Ross Eugene Archer; sister, Rosslyn Archer; sons, Andrew Thompson, Cory Archer; and daughter, Nichole Archer
Rusty is survived by his wife of twenty years, whom he married March 10, 2000, Michelle Brevelle Archer; his mother, Blanche Archer of Jamesport, MO; daughters: Jessica Brevelle Stokes, and husband Garrett of DeKalb, TX, Loretta Tull of Gallatin, MO; brother, Ross Archer of Gallatin; nephews: Justin Jackson and wife, Michelle from Rogers, AR, and Joseph Laehn, Tracia Conrad of Chickasha, OK; grandchildren: Caleb, Raelyn, Jacob, Daniel, Adiline, Adison, Colton, Clay, and his inseparable Sophie. Rusty leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and loved ones across Texas, Colorado, Arizona, Oklahoma, and Missouri.
A Memorial service honoring Rusty’s life will be held at 11am, Thursday, November 21, 2019 at Lake Viking Church in Gallatin with Pastor Robert Nelson officiating. Visitation will be at 10am until service time.
