Robert F. Campbell

February 27, 1935 ~ April 2, 2018 (age 83)

Robert F. Campbell, 83, of Lake Ozark, Missouri passed away on April 2, 2018 in Bentonville, Arkansas. He was born in Jefferson City, Missouri on February 27, 1935 to William James and Ann Marie (Harvey) Campbell. He was married to his high school sweet-heart and best friend, Storm (Bullman) Campbell for 47 years. Bob spent 49 years in education as a teacher, principal and superintendent. His students and teachers called him “Sugar Bear” due to his large stature, warm heart, and radiating smile, while his philosophy through the years always remained, “Everybody is Somebody.” Students continuously expressed gratitude for his advocacy and ability to see the good in everyone. He had a zest for life and soaked up as many experiences as possible. Mid-career Bob stepped out of education and explored several other professions including owning a resort, contract painting, selling real estate and owning a restaurant. He returned to education, which was his true calling, until he retired in 2013 at age 78.  Bob’s 83 years were full of miles behind the wheel of a car, measured in laughs, and remembered by the people he met along the way. Bob loved to travel the scenic route and to be surrounded by family and life-long friends. Summer vacations never ran short of visiting a beach and enjoying his “green tomato dills.”

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Storm (Bullman) Campbell and daughter, Lisa Campbell Davidson.

Bob is survived by his son, Scot of Camdenton, Missouri; daughter, Tracey Campbell Montgomery and husband, Tom of Rogers, Arkansas; daughter-in-law, Stacey Campbell of Osage Beach, Missouri. Bob’s greatest joy was his 5 grandchildren –  Eric von Gremp and wife, Raney, Nick von Gremp, Cayli Campbell, Caden Campbell, Brandon Wallander; great-grandson, Leo von Gremp; along with nieces and nephews that he adored.

A “Celebration of Life” will be held at 1:00PM, Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Harper Chapel Methodist Church, 5567 Osage Beach Pkwy, Osage Beach, Missouri 65065.

Visitation will be at 12:00 p.m. until service time.

There will be a reception and light meal following the services.  Please bring a “Bob” story to share!
