Robert (Bob) E. Steo, 57, passed away on Friday, April 24,
2015, in Rogers, Arkansas. Bob was born January 5, 1958, in
Greece, adopted at six months of age by Rocco and Josephine
Steo and became a naturalized citizen of the US at age 3-1/2.
Bob proudly served in the US Navy and was honorably
discharged from active duty in April 1986 as a Chief Petty
Officer (ICC SS). He served on the Robert E. Lee among others
as a Nuclear Reactor Operator.
Following military service, he worked for McDonnell
Douglas/Boeing, IBM, Microsoft, and Walmart. His working life
took him around the world. He graduated from Washington
University in St. Louis with a degree in Mechanical Engineering
while working full time and rising two children. He was currently
working toward a law degree to practice law pro bono for
women in need when he retired.
Bob was raised in Long Island, New York as a rabid sports fan
of the New York Yankees (MLB), New York Giants (NFL), and
New York Rangers (NHL). He loved to give friends and family a
hard time about other sports teams as the Yankees were “the
most winningest” team in sports. He was drafted by the Pirates
as junior in high school for his 95-mile-an-hour fastball, but blew
his shoulder out his senior year playing football.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Traci Steo (nee Robinson),
two children, Rocco Steo and Melissa Steo, from a previous
marriage, and many other relatives and friends.
Bob will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and
unbelievable storyteller. All of the stories he told about his life
were true. His personality was bigger than he was, as was, his
ability to befriend others.
Funeral services will be held at 11am, Tuesday, April 28, 2015
at Stockdale-Moody Funeral Services in Rogers with a visitation
starting at 10am until service time.
Burial will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St.
Louis, MO.
