John D. Rogers, 95 of Rogers, Arkansas, and formerly of Peoria, IL, died Saturday September
26, 2009 at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale.
John was born July 1, 1914 in Mayfield, Kentucky to Thurman Rogers and Delilah Waldrop. He
retired after 15 years of service, as a district manager for Oakstate Bakery. John enjoyed,
golfing, fishing, woodworking, camping, traveling, and wintering in Arizona and the Valley
region of Texas.  He enjoyed the arts, especially music and oil painting.  He was a member of
the First United Methodist Church in Bentonville, and moved to Northwest Arkansas in 1979
from Orland Park, Illinois.
Survivors include his wife of 75 years Eleanor Rogers, of the home; two daughters Marilyn
Martens and her husband Don of Bentonville, Judy Tilley and her husband Bob of Tremont,
Illinois; one sister Helen Wagner of Mesa, Arizona; 5 grandsons, 7 great grand children and 3
great great grandchildren.
A visitation for John D. Rogers will be 6-8:00PM Tuesday September29, 2009 at Stockdale
Funeral Services of Rogers.
Funeral services will be 10:00AM Thursday October 1, 2009 at Swan Lake Memory Gardens
Chapel in Peoria, Illinois.
Memorials in honor of John D. Rogers may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
