Barbara Jean (Tate) Mott was called home to heaven to the presence of her
Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 20, 2015 from Omaha, AR where she
lived with Perry & Julie Mott. Barbara also reunited with her best friend
and husband of 54 years, Dewayne J. Mott, who preceded her in death on
June 10, 2009.
Barbara Jean (Tate) Mott born August 13, 1937 to Otis Lafayette Tate and
Pearl (Walters) Tate in Fort Smith, AR.
Barbara grew up in Roland, OK where she played High School basketball
and as a teen lead singing in church (Granny Tate played the piano).
Barbara met the young sailor Dewayne and became his bride at 17 years of
age on Oct. 1, 1954. Barbara was a home-maker, faithfully served in church
ministry, and worked in business adventures with her husband. Together,
they raised four boys and were greatly involved in the lives of their
grandchildren. Barbara loved cooking, serving, and sharing in the lives of
her family and friends. Barbara loved to travel, work in the yard, and do
about anything as long as she was next to Dewayne; you rarely saw one
without the other. Barbara was a member of First Landmark Missionary
Baptist Church, Bentonville, AR.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, four brothers,
one daughter (Pamela Denise), one son (John Paul) and one great-
granddaughter (Kallie Jean McCullough).
The past six years she has missed her best friend greatly; but she continued
to love her growing family. Barbara is survived by and will be deeply
missed by…
One sister: Sue Reagan - Colcord, OK; four sons and their spouses:
Randall & Shannon of Austin, TX, Perry & Julie of Omaha, AR, Jeffrey &
Lee of Rogers, AR, and Todd & Maria of Siloam Springs, AR; 10
grandchildren and their spouses: Amber McCullough (Adam), Jodie Cole
(Danny), Rowdy Mott (Samantha), Corey Mott (Brittany), Jessikah Kelley
(Lane), Hunter Mott, Lacey Smith (Justin), Joshua Mott (Jamie), Spencer
McMurtrey, and Tylor McMurtrey; 13 great-grandchildren: Ethan, Kenneth,
Brooklynn, MacKenzie, Moriah, Alecia, Dakota, Bailey, Devin, Falon,
Adam, Chevie, and Katelynn. Barbara will also be greatly missed by a host
of extended family and friends.
It is with great sadness and great joy that the sons of Barbara invite friends
and family to join in the celebration of the going home of their mother.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, June 27, 2015 at First
Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Bentonville, AR with Pastor Terry
Simmons and Pastor Eugene (Chip) Reagan officiating. Burial will be at 3:

Prayers are with you, I will cherish the time I spent with Aunt Barb
and Uncle Dewayne, they were generous and loving, when I was too
poor to go on vacation I spent a weekend with them, it was the best.
I know you will miss her so much, but I can just see them strolling
around heaven with no pain or sickness, singing and praising God.
Luv to you Linda Tate Smith.
