James (Mac) McGlothlin, 97, passed away Tuesday,
September 1, 2015 in Rogers. He was born in Beaumont,
Texas in 1918 but left shortly thereafter, moving frequently to
many sates while growing up. He joined the U.S. Marine
Corp. in 1934 at the age of 16, being stationed in mainland
Upon returning to the U.S., he joined the Merchant Marines
and saw service during WWII in both the Pacific and Atlantic
After the war, he became Chief Engineer and sailed on cargo
ships worldwide. Settling in Southern California, he then held
the position of Director of Engineering in several hospitals
He was preceded in death by June’s mother, Julia Maddlyn
James is survived by his wife, Donna; a daughter, June Fields;
two grandsons, Brent and Bryan Fields; two great
granddaughters, and four great-great grandchildren.
Private service will be held at a later date.
Dear Aunt Donna, so sorry to hear the news but feel Jim was
ready to go. Thinking and praying for you.
Donna so very sorry to learn of Jims passing. I am certain he is
in a better place. No pain and whole again. Love you both so
