James “Clay” "Papa" Jenkins, 67, of Pea Ridge, Arkansas died June 3, 2015 at Mercy Hospital in
Rogers, with his beloved wife and children at his side. He was born October 8, 1947 in Decatur,
Georgia to Charles Raymond Jenkins and Meriam Faye Adams.

Clay had a deep love for his country and proudly served in the Armed Forces and National Guard for
many years.  He stayed active by supporting the Wounded Warriors Program and other organizations
that provided aid to the military.

Prior to moving to Northwest Arkansas and working in real estate with Crye-Lieke Realty, Clay and
Cathy lived in Wyoming where he owned a phone business.  He enjoyed the years they spent there
and had many fond memories.  Clay's wish was for his remains to be spread in the Big Horn
Mountains of Wyoming and his family will fulfill that wish.

Clay had a great love for his wife, his three children and three grandchildren.  They all knew how
important they were to him.  He was the happiest when they were all together.  Clay enjoyed
traveling and sampling every coffee shop as well as never missing an opportunity to visit each and
every Waffle House that he could find!

Clay's family and friends will miss his wonderful sense of humor and the many stories he would
often tell about his childhood.  As his wife, Cathy, will tell you, in her darkest days he was the one
who would make her laugh and forget all her troubles.  Clay never met a stranger and anyone who
knew him felt lucky to have met him.  This world was a better place with him in it and the loss will
be forever felt by so many.

He was preceded in death by his parents.  Clay is survived by his wife of 32 years, Cathy Bankston
Jenkins;  two sons, Jamey Reynolds of Conyers, Georgia, Charles Matthew “Matt” Jenkins of
Fayetteville, Arkansas; one daughter, Jennifer Rene Maples and husband, Marcus of Villa Rica,
Georgia; three grandchildren, Katie Garrison, Avery Maples and Sydnie Maples; twin brothers,
Ronald Perego and wife, Becky of Katy, Texas and Richard Perego and wife, Sena of Denver,
Colorado.  He is also survived by his favorite cats, Buddy and Kitty, and his dog, Nikki.
