Elaine Cole, 68, of Bentonville, died Saturday, October 10, 2009 at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville.  
She was born October 27, 1940 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Emmett T. Turner and Mildred Davis Turner.  

She had a lifelong love of learning, was an avid reader, and used this passion to successfully teach others to read.   
She was a world traveler, enjoyed collecting elephants figurines and working puzzles.   She was a great supporter
of the theater and the arts.  Elaine had the gift of hospitality and used this gift, along with her gourmet cooking
skills, decorating talents and animated story telling to entertain family and friends.  She was a member of the Red
Hat Society, the Rogers Friendship Club, a bridge club, a book club, and was involved in the Purple Heart Club.  
Elaine was a member of First Baptist Church of Bentonville.

Elaine was preceded in death by her husband Billy J. Cole in 2003.

She is survived by one son, Michael Seay and wife Melanie of Belleville, Illinois; one daughter Gwen Benson and
husband Stuart of Bella Vista; one step-daughter Carol Ann Cole of Dallas, Texas; one sister Elouise Smith and
husband Fred of Orcutt, California; 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.  

A visitation will be held from 5 to 7:00PM Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at Stockdale Funeral Services in Rogers.

Funeral services will be at 10:00AM Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at First Baptist Church in Bentonville with
Brother Randy Cameron officiating.  Interment will be at 1:00PM at the National Cemetery in Fayetteville.
