In 2001, two families, Tom and Jan Stockdale, and Elvis and Jan Moody formed
Stockdale Funeral Services, Inc. In 2010, the Moody's purchased the Stockdale's
half of the business, becoming sole owners.
As long term residents of Northwest Arkansas, Elvis and Jan Moody have been
active in the community. Jan (Gage) Moody was crowned Miss BHS as freshman
at Bentonville High School. She retired from Arvest Investments as a vice-president
of Arvest Bank in Bentonville in 1999. Jan has been active in the community in
the Women's Shelter, a volunteer docent at Compton Gardens, volunteer at Crystal
Bridges Museum of American Art, President of Life Line of Northwest Arkansas
and is active in the Bentonville Garden Club and All Saints Episcopal Church.
Elvis Moody constructed KJEM radio in Bentonville in 1979 and operated KJEM
AM and FM until 1997. He has served as the President of the Arkansas
Broadcasters Association, Bentonville Girls Softball League, as Chairman of the
Bentonville-Bella Vista Chamber of Commerce, the city of Bentonville Advertising
and Promotion Bureau, as well as serving on the boards of the American Red Cross,
Bentonville Rotary Club, and the Sam and Helen Walton Day Committee.
They are pleased to continue serving the needs of the community as part of
Stockdale-Moody Funeral Services.
Lisa Bacon has been with Stockdale-Moody Funeral Services since 2004. She
graduated from Centenary College in Shreveport, Louisiana with a degree in
Psychology and attended graduate school at Louisiana State University.
She has one son and two daughters. Her son is attending medical school, one
daughter is a local attorney and one is attending college. They have lived in Rogers
since 1989. Lisa has been a church musician and choir director for many years
and with the support and backing of the funeral home, has recently started
"Sunday Afternoon Community Singings" at local historic churches. She attends
Fellowship Bible Church in Rogers.
Lisa is the Vice-President of the Northwest Arkansas Funeral Directors Association
and is a volunteer at the Greenhouses at Legacy Village.
