Jan York
July 23, 1950 - August 14, 2011
Rogers, Arkansas
Jan’s childhood was a large family in a rural Alabama environment.
The “Country” feeling never left the girl.
Young adulthood involved family building and a career in retail
management. Her love of dolls, and collecting them, came from one
of those jobs as a manager of a retail doll shop.
Later adulthood years were devoted to family, friends, decorating,
and her doll collection. Her love of family and friends was
unconditional and unwavering. Our love for her was the same.
She has a special place in her heart for all animals, especially her
little friend “Louie” the Kitty.
She loved to sing. When she forgot the lyrics to a song, she would
instantly move to another, and another and another.
She could talk on the phone half the day to Mom, sisters, nieces and
friends, and sing the other half. She loved to chatter.
Her soul is free now, but I think it probably always was.
