Floyd I. Stanley, 90, of Rogers, Arkansas died Friday, January 1, 2010 in Rogers. He was
born February 22, 1919 in Lott, Texas to Frank I. Stanley and Minnie Beauchamp Stanley.
Floyd dedicated his life as an Evangelist for the Lord. He worked diligently as a preacher and
teacher of the Word of God. Throughout his career, Floyd ministered to Church of Christ
congregations throughout Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. Floyd was the Director of the Bible
Chair at Arkansas University from 1957-1962. He was author of many pamphlets and books
about the Holy Spirit, Grief and Loss, Divorce and Remarriage, and his most intensive work on
the book of Revelation: As a Lamb Slain, a labor of love he worked on for over fifty years.
Floyd retired from pulpit ministry in 1989 and moved to Rogers, Arkansas. He was a Minister,
Elder and active member at Southside Church of Christ where he continued to preach, counsel
and teach Bible class for the next twenty years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 6 brothers, 3 sisters and one grandchild.
Floyd is survived by his wife of 72 years Maude L. Stanley; one son Floyd Stanley, Jr. and
wife Christa of Midlothian, Texas; two daughters Rita Ryan and husband Leo of Rogers, Elaine
Davenport and husband Michael of Bertram, Texas, one brother G. B. Stanley and wife Jeannie
of Fullerton, California; 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren; 1 great- great grandchild;
numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00PM Monday, January 4, 2010 at Stockdale Funeral
Services in Rogers.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00PM Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at Southside Church of
Christ in Rogers. Burial will be in Benton County Memorial Park Cemetery.
