On December 16, 2011, The Lord came for Jan Allen Henderson Riddle .
Jan was born on May 2, 1939, in Clinton, OK., to Al and Joe Henderson.
Jan remained the favored grandchild throughout the WWII years. The
extended family was very close, and my mom fondly remembered times
spent together listening to radio shows, playing cards
Though born in Oklahoma, Jan and her parents moved often so that her
father, Al, could work in the construction business. By the time she
reached high school, the family had settled in Wichita, KS. Jan graduated
from Planeview High school in 1957. At a party hosted by family friends,
Jan met Frank Riddle, a 26 year old Navy veteran who worked with the
host of the party. Three months later, on February 8, 1958, they were
married in Las Vegas, and were married for 52 years until Frank Passed
away.
Jan made her living as a homemaker .
Jan loved her Grandchildren Ashley, Hannah, Keegan, Kylee, Katelyn, and
Elijah. These grandkids were, literally, her life. They loved taking the kids
to Disney World for spring breaks, going to orchestra recitals, plays,
games…they were always the kids biggest fans. And their grandchildren
will forever miss them.
Jan was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Frank, and by her
beloved granddaughter Ashley. Survivors include her mother and step-
father Joe and Bobby Kocoureck , her daughter and son-in-law Kellie and
Bill Hansen; daughter and son-in-law Casey and Randy Compton;
grandchildren Hannah and Eli Riddle and Keegan, Kylee, and Katelyn
Hansen; her sister Judy Zimmer; niece Jocelyn and great-niece Joa
Murray. She also leaves behind her “daughter” Diana Delgado, and
numerous aunts, cousins and friends.
A drop-in memorial service will be held following the holidays. In lieu of
flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Circle of Life
Hospice in Springdale.
