Sue Almand Ricketts

Sue Almand Ricketts, age 71, of Bentonville, AR. died Sunday July 24,
2011 at Mercy Hospital in Rogers, AR.  She was born February 29, 1940,
in Tucumcari, N.M. to Tommy Almand and Frances Koppers Almand.
She lived in Bentonville, in 1950, before moving back to Tucumcari in
1951.   She graduated from Tucumcari High School in 1958, where her
family operated Tommy’s Steak Shop on Route 66.  After the death of her
father, she and her mother moved back to Bentonville in 1967 to be near
family.
She met her husband Leo Ricketts, and then they married on Thanksgiving
Day, November, 23, 1972.  They were married for 33 years until Leo died
on February 2, 2006.  She had been a resident of the Bentonville Manor
for over 5 years; spending most of that time confined to her bed.  She was
a member of the Bella Vista Assembly of God church and for a period of
time she worked together with her husband Leo in ministry with two area
Assembly of God churches.  
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three sisters; Irma
Almand, Crickett Fitzner and Patricia Lovvorn.  
Survivors include a sister, Millie Grappe of Owasso, OK; and one brother,
Troy Almand and wife Joan of Bentonville, AR.  She also is survived and
felt blessed by many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews,
and great, great nieces and great, great nephews.  
A memorial celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. Friday July 29, at
Stockdale Funeral Services in Rogers, AR, with the Rev. George Clay and
William Spurlock officiating.  The family will receive friends at 1:30 p.m.
prior to the service.   Interment will be at the National Cemetery in
Fayetteville, AR.
