Euel Sylvester Patton, 92, of Bentonville, Arkansas died Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at Mercy
Medical Center in Rogers.  He was born May 14, 1919 in Harrison, Arkansas to James
Sylvester Patton and Ruby Ethel Atkinson Patton.

He moved to Bentonville in 1943 to work with the U.S. Department of Agriculture Soil
Conservation Service. For a few of these early years, he also owned and operated the Ozark
Taxi Service, based out of Gus's Newsstand on West Central. At age 55 he retired from the
Soil Conservation Service with 32 years of service, a tribute to his outstanding work ethic.
Euel owned multiple rental properties throughout his life and was a life-long farmer and
member of the United Methodist Church.  He was also a 32nd degree member of the
Bentonville Masonic Lodge. He is remembered most by his family for his generosity, not only
to them but to multitudes of others.

He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty years, Nina Patton, his parents, and brother,
Leonard Milton Patton.

Euel is survived by two sons, James M. Patton and wife Brenda of Bentonville, Arkansas;
Vernon Patton and wife Darlene of Ozark, Arkansas; one daughter, Janice Shofner and
husband Bob of Centerton, Arkansas; nine grandchildren (Jared Patton, Jibbi Patton Grigg,
Toby Patton Wildeman, Rafe Patton, Dewey Patton, Jeremy Patton, Todd Patton, Robby
Shofner, and Janee Shofner) and eleven great-grandchildren (Lauren, Cody, and Hunter
Patton; Payton and Jenna Wildeman; Landon and Ethan Grigg; Eva Patton; Greggory Patton;
and River Patton).
Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00PM, Sunday, November 6, 2011 at Stockdale Funeral
Services in Rogers.

Funeral Services will be at 2:00PM, Monday, November 7, 2011 at First United Methodist
Church in Bentonville with the Rev. Rex Dickey officiating.  Burial will be in Bentonville
Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the “Euel and Nina Dean Patton Memorial 4-H
