William Kennedy Lucy, 86, of Rogers, Arkansas died Friday, January 1, 2010 in Rogers. He
was born March 31, 1923 in Brinkley, Arkansas to William Nixon Lucy and Mary Kennedy
Lucy.
He proudly served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a decorated soldier,
receiving four Bronze Stars and the Good Conduct Medal. Bill was a printer in the days of
typesetting. It was amazing to watch him and his father perform their craft. He worked on
many of the leading newspapers in the country.
Bill was a sweet, kind, good natured gentleman. In his retirement years he enjoyed eating
chocolate candy, drinking diet Root beer and watching “Wheel of Fortune.” No doubt, the
enjoyment of the game show kept his lifelong love of words alive.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.
He is survived by one sister, Margaret Walker; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bill was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Memorial services will be at 10:00AM Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at Stockdale Funeral Chapel
in Rogers.
