William Lee "Dick" Lovell

William Lee  “Dick” Lovell, 82, of Bentonville passed away Friday, April 23, 2010 at his
residence.
Throughout his illness he was loved and cared for by his family and cherished four
daughters.
  He was born December 21, 1927 in Bentonville to Rick Lovell and Mary Caldwell
Lovell.
He was a native of Bentonville and proudly served in the United States Army Air Corp.  He
loved his family and though he loved to tease and joke with folks, they always knew where they
stood with him.  He enjoyed playing dominoes
' with the grandchildren and used that time to
teach them life lessons. Dick was always willing to share what he had with others.  He was an
avid coon hunter and loved to fish and took his grandchildren on many hunting and fishing
trips.  He was known by many names, but the one that brought the most joy was “Grandpa”    
or “Grampy D.”
He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife Gladys Lovell in 1968; one son Jimmy
Lovell; one grandson Chris Hickman and one granddaughter April Emerson . Dick was the
youngest of ten children, his two sisters and seven brothers have also preceded him in death.
Dick is survived by four daughters, Carolyn Hufford of Bentonville, Sharon Ward and husband
James of Bentonville, Patricia Hickman and husband Everett of Gentry, Cathy Hacker and
husband Dean of Bentonville; eight grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren and one great

grandson.
Funeral services will be at 11:00AM Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at Eastside Assembly of God in
Bentonville with Pastor Ronnie Roughton                   officiating.  Burial will follow at 2:00PM
at the Fayetteville National Cemetery with Pastor Leonard Lovell officiating.   Full military
honors will be provided by the American Legion Post #100, Northwest Arkansas Honor
Guard.    
Visitation will be from 6:00PM to 8:00PM, Monday, April 26, 2010 at Stockdale Funeral
Services in Rogers.
