Lavonia Ann King of Bentonville, AR lovingly known as “Nana” to her grandchildren, passed
away Friday evening August 5, 2011 at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville, AR.
Lavonia was born October 5, 1938 in DeFuniak Springs, Florida to Leon and Elma Lunsford.
She married Jesse W. “Jack” King in June 15, 1956, sharing 55 years of happiness and
partnership. Together they had three children, Theresa King-Thompson, Julia Ann King-
Newman and Douglas Warren King.
Lavonia is preceded in death by her parents, but left 12 loving brothers and sisters, all of which
live in Florida.
Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at Stockdale Funeral Services in
Rogers.
Funeral services will be at 10 am, Thursday, August 11, 2011 Lakeview Baptist Church, new
location on Hwy 264, 1 mile East of Cave Springs, AR. with Pastor Johnny Harp and Lynn
Brown of Bella Vista, AR officiating. Burial will be held at Barron Cemetery, Vaughn, AR.
Memorials may be made in honor of Lavonia King to Circle of Life, 901 Jones Road,
Springdale, Arkansas 72762.
Lavonia will be remembered most for her love of family, her little town of Vaughn, her yard full
of flowers, her amazing meals (mostly fried chicken and sweet deserts) and her sassy fun
loving spirit…
