Virginia Fern Kaelson, 94, Bella Vista, AR died Saturday, June 18, 2011 of complications from
pneumonia at Highlands Healthcare Center in Bella Vista, AR.
Born in St. Joseph, MO to James Rueben Mallory and Minnie Bartling Mallory on October 29,
1916, she graduated from Central High School in St. Joseph in 1934.
In July 1937 she married Charles Paul Kaelson. They were devoted to one another and enjoyed
63 years of marriage and were blessed with a daughter, Sharon Kay. Following Charles’ World
War II service, the family moved to Kansas City, MO where Charles worked as office manager
for NCR.
Virginia was a homemaker and also worked in the clothing alterations departments for Harzfeld’
s and Rothschild’s department stores in Kansas City and in Overland Park, KS.
After retiring, Virginia and Charles moved to Laguna Woods, CA in 1987 and later to
Bentonville, AR in 1998 where they could be near family whom they both so loved.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; her parents, and one brother, Jack Richard
Mallory.
Survivors include her daughter, Sharon Cunningham and husband, Art, of Bentonville, AR;
three grandchildren, David Kirk Cunningham of McKinney, TX, Laura Lynn Baesel of Prosper,
TX, and Kristin Elisabeth Rich of Bentonville; and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is planned for 2:00 PM, Saturday, July 23, 2011 at Stockdale Funeral
Chapel in Rogers with Pastor Chris Miller officiating. Interment will be at Mount Olivet
Cemetery, St. Joseph, MO. Memorial contributions can be made to Trinity Grace Church, PMB
