Glenn Featherston, 86 of Bentonville, died Monday January 11, 2010 at his home.
He was born November 24, 1923 in Benton County (Punkin Holler), to Samuel Featherston, and
Olive  “Ollie”Allison Featherston.
Glenn graduated from Bentonville High School, Class of 1941.  He is a longtime civic and
agricultural leader of Benton County. Glenn served on the Board of Directors of Farmers
Exchange in Bentonville, past president of the Board of Directors of Farmers Mutual Insurance
Company of Rogers, served on the Board of Directors of the Benton County Soil Conservation
District, and served on the Board of Directors of the Bank of Bentonville (ARVEST).
Besides his civic activities, Glenn enjoyed his cattle and farming operation, fishing, and was a
longtime active member of the Centerton United Methodist Church where he served as
superintendant of Sunday School and served on the church board.
With all of the things Glenn was involved in, what he enjoyed the most was quality time with
his family.  He was especially fond of his granddaughter’s events and activities that he could
attend.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years Martha Lue Rakes Featherston, whom he married on
Octobers 28, 1948; a son Sam Featherston, and his wife Crystal of Bentonville; two sisters
Mabel Douglas of Bella Vista, Ellen Casey and her husband Al of Gravette; two granddaughters
Chandra Perkins, and her husband Matt of Bentonville, Kayla Geigle and her husband Weston of
Bentonville, and one great granddaughter Dylan Kayla Myers, of Bentonville.  Glenn was
preceded in death by his parents, and one brother Edwin Featherston.
Funeral services will be 10:00AM Thursday January 14, 2010 at Living Waters at Centerton,
formerly Centerton United Methodist Church, with Pastor Lee Myane and Pastor Randy
Featherston officiating.  Burial will be in Benton County Memorial Park in Rogers.
Visitation will be 5-7:00PM Wednesday January 13, 2010 at Stockdale Funeral Services of
Rogers.
