Wanda Ediger
November 28, 1922-May 8, 2011
Bella Vista, Arkansas
Wanda Ediger, 88, of Bella Vista, Arkansas, passed away at home May 8, 2011. Wanda was
born in Inman, Kansas, the daughter of D.C. and Helen Pauls. After graduating from high
school in Inman, Wanda went on to Tabor College, in Hillsboro, Kansas, where she met and
later married Walter Ediger.
Walt and Wanda had five children: Warren (born in Chicago), Karen (Hillsboro, Kansas), Paul
(Hutchinson, Kansas), Christi and Beth (Central City, Nebraska).
Early in their marriage, Wanda taught elementary school in Kansas. Later, after she and Walt
moved to Nebraska, she returned to school and earned a degree in education from Kearney
State College and continued to teach.
After living in Kansas, Nebraska, and Oklahoma, Walt and Wanda retired in Bella Vista,
Arkansas, where they joined Fellowship Bible Church of Northwest Arkansas and became
active members of the Bella Vista Community Group.
Wanda is remembered by her children and those who knew her as a hard-working, loving
woman whose concern for others was often exhibited in creative ways. One of her children
recently described her as an awesome, unselfish, creative woman with an amazing, often
self-deprecating sense of humor. She leaves a legacy and example that will live forever in the
hearts and lives of her children and those who knew her.
Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Walter, who passed away in 2009. She is
survived by Warren and Cheri Ediger, Karen and Philip Wantoch, Paul Ediger, Christi and Geoff
Braun, Beth and Miles Menne, nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and her brothers
Jim and Rudy.
