Steven Gordon Burt, 43, of Rogers, Arkansas died April 29, 2011 at Circle of Life Hospice in
Bentonville, Arkansas.   He was born October 30, 1967 in Kansas City, Kansas to Keith D. and
Phyllis Houston Burt.
He was a graduate of Purdue University with a degree in Organizational Leadership and
Supervision.  He was employed as at Transportation Coordinator with Transplace Texas in
Lowell, Arkansas. Prior to Transplace he was employed as a Casualty claims Investigator with
J. B. Hunt Truck Lines.  Steven was a retired commissioned officer in the U. S. Army Reserves.
He was an avid Civil war historian and re-enactor.  He devoted untold hours to research and
re-enacting at the Pea Ridge National Military Park.  Whenever he had the opportunity, he
would visit Civil War sites and parks around the country.  He has worked for several years
doing research for a book he had in the planning stages on the 9th Iowa Regiment.  He loved
the military and until his recent illness was in the process of going back into the National Guard.
 He has also served in U. S. Coast Guard Auxiliary for a number of years.  He is a member of
the First Baptist Church of Centerton, Arkansas.
He appreciated all kinds of good music from country to classical.  He also collected copies of
the movie classics, and enjoyed nothing more than relaxing and watching one of the old classics.
Steven is survived by his parents, Keith and Phyllis Burt of Rogers, a sister, Kimberly Walker of
New Bern, NC; a step-son, Dustin Higgins of the U. S. Army; a nephew, Braden Walker; and a
niece, Delaney Walker of New Bern, NC.
Memorial services will be at 1:00 PM Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at Stockdale Funeral Chapel in
Rogers with the Rev. Stuart Bell officiating, assisted by Jinx Barber.   Inurnment will be in the
Columbarium at First Presbyterian Church in Bentonville at a later date.
A time of fellowship with the family will be held from 12 Noon until service time.
