Halcyon Elizabeth Brown, lovingly known as “MeeMaw” by her family, passed away on
Sunday, February 28, 2010 at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale, Arkansas.
Halcyon was born February 18, 1918 in Paris, Arkansas to Elmer and Iva Hixson. She was
married to Ben Brown in 1939 and they shared 64 happy years together. Halcyon and Ben
raised one daughter, Barbara.
Halcyon E. Brown is preceded in death by her parents, her five siblings, and her beloved
husband, Ben.
“MeeMaw” will truly be missed by her family: daughter, Barbara Beeman and her husband Mel
of Bella Vista; grandchildren, Blake Tatom of Palm Springs, CA., Amy Tatom of Rogers; great
grandchildren, Jennifer Beeman of Rogers, AR., Trent, Ella and Zane Tatom of Palm Springs,
CA., Hannah Tatom of Georgia and Rebekah Tatom of Oklahoma.
Halcyon was dedicated to her family, enjoyed church activities, and was well-known for her
homemade cookies!
All who knew her will cherish their memories of this fine lady. We will miss her smile and
continue to be inspired by her joy in living.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00AM Friday, March 5, 2010 at First United Methodist
Church in Bella Vista with the Reverend Doris Schlessman officiating.
