M.A. “Dutch” Barbettini, 86 of Bella Vista, died Wednesday December 16, 2009.
He was born February 9, 1923 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Attell Barbettini and Florence Carter
Barbettini. He grew up in Electra, Texas.
Dutch served in the Army Air Corp during World War II in the Pacific Campaign. He was in
flight operations with the 39th Bomber Group. Dutch was involved with the aircraft industry
for 60 years. He was a pilot, and was one of the first members to serve on the Board of the
National Business Aircraft Association, and through the University of Texas at Dallas Campus,
served on the Board of History of Aviation Collection for 15 years. Dutch retired after 20 years
of service with Teledyne Corporation in Neosho.
He loved to travel, play golf, and enjoyed being with friends and having great conversation.
Dutch loved his family, his wife, daughter, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were his
life. He was an active member of the First Christian church of Bentonville and served as an
Elder.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years Phyllis Knight Barbettini of the home; a daughter Linda
Perkins of Bella Vista; 2 grandchildren Amanda Lawson and her husband Mike of Guthrie,
Oklahoma, Matt Perkins and his wife Chandra of Bentonville; 2 great grandchildren Dylan
Meyers, of Bentonville, Jackson Lawson of Guthrie; 2 cousins Wilma Bravo of Petaluma,
California, and Henry Bravo of Elk Grove, California. Dutch was preceded in death by his son-
in-law Kertis Perkins in 2001; as well as his parents.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00PM Saturday December 19, 2009 at the First Christian
Church of Bentonville with the Rev. Don Morrow officiating. Internment will take place at a
later date in the Electra Cemetery, Electra, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made in honor of Dutch Barbettini to
the First Christian Church Youth Group, 807 SE 14th St. Bentonville, AR 72712.
